How to Measure a Car for a Custom Cover

Measuring a vehicle for a custom cover is not as difficult as you may think. Covercraft has simple steps for you to follow to get the best fitting cover on the market today.

1. Select the appropriate Dimension Sheet for your vehicle. Covercraft has many available online HERE. If you do not find the one you need at the link, then call our Customer Service Department at 405-238-9651 and they will get one to you. Once you have the right sheet, complete the Vehicle Information section.

2. Mark the vehicle at the points specified on the Dimension Sheet. Small pieces of masking tape work very well.

3. Take individual length measurements by measuring point-to-point, HORIZONTALLY from front to rear as requested on the Dimension Sheet. Length measurements should NOT include vehicle contours.

4. Measure the Overall Length of the vehicle and compare that measurement with the sum of the individual Length measurements. If the two do not match, then retake the measurements to locate the discrepancy.

5. Take height measurements as requested on the Dimension Sheet. All height measurements should be taken from the GROUND. Height measurements CAN include vehicle contours. Measure ground clearance.

6. Take width measurements as requested on the Dimension Sheet. Width measurements should be taken ACROSS the vehicle from side to side and CAN include vehicle contours.

7. When submitting your completed measurements to Covercraft, please provide photos of the vehicle.
